How Long for THC Seltzer to Kick In?
All THC seltzers are different and can affect individuals differently. Just because your friend feels high in five minutes doesn’t mean it will work the same way for you. And that’s okay! We all have our own body chemistry, which changes how we interact with THC.
For most people, THC drinks kick in 15 to 30 minutes after drinking. However, various factors impact the onset of the high. For example, drinking THC seltzer on an empty stomach can make the effects come on faster. And if you’re already high from smoking or consuming THC another way, you may notice the effects sooner as well.
Of course, the amount of THC you consume and the pace at which you drink it will also have a major impact. Chugging a THC seltzer will get you higher faster, compared to slowly sipping on one over an hour.

How Long Do THC Seltzer Highs Last?
Again, the duration of your high from a THC seltzer is influenced by a wide range of factors. And when you continuously drink THC seltzers, it significantly extends the high.
If you have one 5mg THC seltzer and stop, you’ll likely be high for about four hours. If you have a 10mg drink, you may feel high for five or more hours. But if you drink a seltzer every hour for multiple hours, you’ll stay higher for longer!
Your THC tolerance will also strongly impact how long you stay high. People with higher tolerances will process the THC through their system more quickly. This might mean they’re only high for three or four hours. Someone new to cannabis will likely stay higher longer and may ride that buzz for up to six hours after just one drink.

When Does the High Peak?

For most people, the come-up lasts around an hour; they hit their peak high between the one and two-hour mark. Of course, if you keep drinking seltzers, your peak will last longer. How Much THC Should I Drink?
Choosing the right THC dosage can be tricky if you’re new to cannabis. We always recommend starting with 5mg THC drinks, like our Sessions, and seeing how you feel. Keep in mind that while THC from smoking flower and THC in infused seltzers are the same compounds, they react differently in your body. When you smoke, the THC directly enters your bloodstream. When you drink THC, it has to go through your stomach and into your liver to reach your bloodstream. The liver also converts the THC into a more potent form of the compound (11-hydroxy THC).
So, a 10mg seltzer may take longer to get you high than a 10mg puff of a joint, but it will be a stronger high once it sets in. That’s also why the effects of THC edibles last so much longer than the high from smoking. Essentially, edibles and drinks give you more bang for your milligram.
